Exercises or activities to achieve Optimal wellness!

Whats up everyone? Lets look at some exercises and activities that can help us with optimal-wellness. Physical wellness takes regular exercise and physical activity which are important to the physical and mental health of almost everyone, including older adults. Being physically active can help you continue to do the things you enjoy and stay independent as you age. Regular physical activity over long periods of time can produce long-term health benefits. That’s why health experts say that older adults should be active every day to maintain their health. In addition, regular exercise and physical activity can reduce the risk of developing some diseases and disabilities that develop as people grow older. In some cases, exercise is an effective treatment for many chronic conditions. For example, studies show that people with arthritis, heart disease, or diabetes benefit from regular exercise. Exercise also helps people with high blood pressure, balance problems, or difficulty walking. What’s the Difference Between Physical Activity and Exercise?
Both terms refer to the voluntary movements you do that burn calories. Physical activities are activities that get your body moving such as gardening, walking the dog, raking leaves, and taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Exercise is a form of physical activity that is specifically planned, structured, and repetitive such as weight training, tai chi, or an aerobics class.

Spiritual Wellness, How you live your life now can effect how you age later in life.
The art of meditation is a great exercise or activity to enhance spieitual wellbeing. It is not necessary to affiliate with any belief system in order to benefit from meditating. Meditation can support your existing spiritual path whatever that may be, or simply to gain the awareness to discover the answers to life’s questions for yourself. The beautiful thing about meditation is that no matter who we are, no matter our social status, each one of us has an inherent power to meditate. The art of meditating is the ability to empty the mind or to concentrate the mind on one thing. This aids in mental or spiritual development, contemplation, or relaxation. When used as a way to develop concentration, undivided attention is placed upon a specific aspect of executing the mind and/or body in order to accomplish a certain goal or to develop a certain skill. Stress, tension, and imbalances can decrease our health. Yoga therapy is a way to regain greater health and mental-emotional balance. It is based in a philosophy that unifies the body and the mind. The benefits of yoga as therapy far exceed simple stretching. Yoga is a great way to enhance our spiriuality to know our inner-self. Church, prayer and fasting is my favorite exercise for spiritual growth and wellbeing. The hand-in-hand spiritual discipline of prayer and fasting is not a gimmick or a spiritual fad, although its neglect in recent decades makes it a new discovery for many Christians. Prayer and fasting is defined as voluntarily going without food in order to focus on prayer and fellowship with God. Prayer and fasting often go hand in hand, but this is not always the case. You can pray without fasting, and fast without prayer. It is when these two activities are combined and dedicated to God's glory that they reach their full effectiveness. Having a dedicated time of prayer and fasting is not a way of manipulating God into doing what you desire. Rather, it is simply forcing yourself to focus and rely on God for the strength, provision, and wisdom you need.

Psychological wellbeing, People who are emotionally healthy are in control of their emotions and their behavior psychologically. They are able to handle life’s inevitable challenges, build strong relationships, and lead productive, fulfilling lives. When bad things happen, they’re able to bounce back and move on. Mental or emotional health refers to your overall psychological well-being. It includes the way you feel about yourself, the quality of your relationships, and your ability to manage your feelings and deal with difficulties. Good mental health isn't just the absence of mental health problems. Being mentally or emotionally healthy is much more than being free of depression, anxiety, or other psychological issues. Rather than the absence of mental illness, mental and emotional health refers to the presence of positive characteristics. Taking care of your body is a powerful first step towards mental and emotional health. The mind and the body are linked. When you improve your physical health, you’ll automatically experience greater mental and emotional well-being. For example, exercise not only strengthens our heart and lungs, but also releases endorphins, powerful chemicals that energize us and lift our mood.
The activities you engage in and the daily choices you make affect the way you feel physically and emotionally.

Get enough rest. To have good mental and emotional health, it’s important to take care of your body. That includes getting enough sleep. Most people need seven to eight hours of sleep each night in order to function optimally. Learn More

Exercise to relieve stress and lift your mood. Exercise is a powerful antidote to stress, anxiety, and depression. Look for small ways to add activity to your day, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or going on a short walk. To get the most mental health benefits, aim for 30 minutes or more of exercise per day. Learn More; Get a dose of sunlight every day. Sunlight lifts your mood, so try to get at least 10 to 15 minutes of sun per day. This can be done while exercising, gardening, or socializing. Limit alcohol and avoid cigarettes and other drugs.
