Loving Kindness exercise and the Subtle mind exercise

What's up everyone!

Comparing the love-Kindness exercise and the Subtle Mind exercise is not hard to do. The breathing strategies were similar in both exercises, I was very relaxed in doing both meditations with the CD which made it easier to focus on the strength from within. The Love-Kindeness exercise I had to connect with my inner most thoughts and compassions to bring out the love from inside of me. In this meditation one focuses on love for himself then move and spread the love to others from within one's positive spirit. Then once the love is spread throughout the atmosphere then we must spread the love to those who we have problems with and or strangers who we do not konw. This will help us to forgive and have compassion for other people and not be so self-centered thinking evrything is about us. Although there are some who gives us a hard time and anguish we must learn to love them and show them love instead of animosity and revenge or resentment, this helps us to clear our conscious and soul of hatred and negative energy which should not be in our hearts anyway. This exercise has a calming affect to it and it gives me a positive attitude about others and the respect level I should have for another human being. It is a fact of life that many people are troubled by difficult emotional states in the pressured societies we live in, but do little in terms of developing skills to deal with them. Yet even when the mind goes sour it is within most people's capacity to arouse positive feelings to sweeten it. Loving-kindness is a meditation practice taught by the Buddha to develop the mental habit of selfless or altruistic love. In the Dhammapada can be found the saying: "Hatred cannot coexist with loving-kindness, and dissipates if supplanted with thoughts based on loving-kindness." As this healing love comes into you, you feel your heart overflowing with love and gratitude. You feel peaceful, whole, and replenished with love. Naturally, your love and gratitude goes out now to the person who evoked it, wholly and unconditionally.

Once this giving and receiving of love is flowing strongly, expand the direction of your love another degree. Imagine that on either side of this person in front of you are other people in your life whom you love and cherish, and extend the same love to them, fully and joyfully. Then consider that on either side of this central person are also people you don't know very well: co-workers, shopkeepers, neighbors, even strangers you pass on the street.

Extend the same love to them, fully and wholeheartedly. Expanding your love further, consider that on either side of the central person loving you are those who irritate you, those you've been angry with, or who seem to be your enemies. Extend the same love to them, fully and unconditionally, loving and accepting them exactly as they are.

Finally, expand your love to embrace all beings. Consider now that the whole space in front of you is filled with beings throughout the universe, all forms of conscious life, including the tiniest insects, and even those who have died. Now your love is boundless and unbiased, and it shines powerfully onto each and every one, extending happiness to all existence.

The Subtle mind exercise uses breathing exercises to give a calmimg spirit to transend within us to the outer limits of the world to help us deal and cope with stress and frustrations of everyday living. its intention is to find peace within ourselves and growth in time to help us learn to cope with adverse situations. Both ofd these meditations would recomend putting them into your life. They are life changing exercises to help us focus on the task at hand with a clean spirit and a lovingheart at peace with the world and himself. Both exeercises I have encorporated into my daily schedule with parayer.

The connectoion from spiritual wellness to mental wellness to physical wellness. There is a connection between spirit and physical ailment. Studies have shown a connection between prayer and healing as well as the mind and the body.
Prayer is a big part of my life and it conditions us to spread that love. There is definitely a connection between prayer and healing. prayer can be a powerful tool for a connection between God and us.

Mother Theresa believed “peace begins with a smile.” A sincere smile shines from our soul, making the world a warmer place. A genuine smile puts us at ease whilst a frown creates unease, promoting disease and depression according to modern and traditional medicine. Smiling to others and ourselves is a gift of love. The universal language of a smile speaks straight to the heart, bypassing the intellect and ego. To nurture loving relationships Ayurveda advises one greet others with a pleasant face, Buddhism encourages friendliness to all (maitri) and Taoism teaches that giving ourselves a grin is the best medicine. A deep inner smile spreads like a relaxing elixir making us receptive to transform negative energy into positive. Conversely, a scowl suppresses our immune system by increasing stress, contracting channels and blocking energy. LU YA!

MENTAL WORKOUT

Mental Workouts is simply the practice of resting your awareness on a particular object. Most of the time your awareness is moving indiscriminately from one thing to another?from memories of conversations you had last week to worries about what you?re going to do tomorrow to the demands of the situation in front of you. Your mind swings from topic to topic, limb to limb, like a wild monkey, and you don't have much control over where it goes. In mental workouts you practice returning your attention again and again to the present moment - whether it's to the sensations of your breath, or to a short word of phrase, or to an inner visual image. As you gradually cultivate awareness in this way, your mind begins to settle down and become less agitated and confused, and you expand your ability to concentrate and be present for everything life offers. In meditation you're setting aside some time to shift from constant doing, the hallmark of 21st-century life, to simply being, open and attentive.

Reasearch has shown that mental workouts are If calming your mind and relaxing your body doesn’t seem like reason enough to learn to meditate, here’s a list of the many benefits the practice confers. Extensive research has consistently shown that people who indulge in mental workouts(meditate:

-Live longer
-Feel happier and enjoy life more
-Experience less stress and greater relaxation
-Have lower blood pressure, heart rate, and cholesterol levels
-Function more effectively at work and sports
-Feel more loving and compassionate
-Have easier access to spiritual insights and mind-states
-Experience enhanced creativity
-Feel more centered, grounded, and balanced

We can implement mental workouts in our lives just as running a mile a day is better for your body than running five miles once a week, meditating daily for 10 or 20 minutes is more effective than meditating once a week for an hour. If possible, set aside a particular time each day to do a mental workout(meditate), and stick with it. Regularity and consistency are crucial in reaping the benefits of mental workouts. It will relive the stress and enhance the psychological agenda in our minds to streghnthen us through our pshchological state to build confidence in our selves over the stress and distress of our society's normal practices. Loving-Kindness

Hey everyone the Loving-Kindness exercise was great and made me wanted more Loving-Kindness in my life. Once I got focused it was like a transformation with in my inner-self. Once I did once it was like I was hooked, I wanted to fit this exercise in my busy day as if it was a part of my day and life to do's to survive. It is very beneficial to forget about our needs and focus on others and their needs, this will destroy the self-centerd attitude that the worl instills in us daily. Loving-kindness meditation can be brought in to support the practice of 'bare attention' to help keep the mind open and sweet. It provides the essential balance to support your insight meditation practice.

It is a fact of life that in todays worl so much emotional stress and distress from troubled times polute our minds and spirit. We need this exercise of meditation to deal with the ills of our society that beats negative values in our spirit domain. Yet even when the mind goes sour it is within most people's capacity to arouse positive feelings to sweeten it. The Loving-Kindness meditation practice overwhelms the negative feelings and auora to a positive loving state that we would want to share with others. Loving-kindness is a meditation practice, which brings about positive attitudinal changes as it systematically develops the quality of 'loving-acceptance'. It acts, as it were, as a form of self-psychotherapy, a way of healing the troubled mind to free it from its pain and confusion. Of all Buddhist meditations, loving-kindness has the immediate benefit of sweetening and changing old habituated negative patterns of mind.

I recomend this to everyone it will change lives and may even save lives from this hateful world we live in. The thing about it is I pray often and this is almost the same it reaches you with a higher plateau and powre of love, and GOD is love. It connects you with a state of mind and a high so fullfilling one would not want to come down.I agree with the text and Dacher that the meditation benefit is; "to create a heartfelt loving-kindness that diminishes your self centeredness and quiets your mind" (Dacher, 2006, p. 69). If a person struggles to love others this exercise meditation can condition them to love. I have learned to love others through my inequites in my life but this meditation can condition the heart and the mind to focus on loving others with the kindness GOD had for us when he created us.

Talk to to you guys later! Love is first and GOD is love! "THEN GOD IS FIRST IN OUR LIFE!"

Exercises or activities to achieve Optimal wellness!

Whats up everyone? Lets look at some exercises and activities that can help us with optimal-wellness. Physical wellness takes regular exercise and physical activity which are important to the physical and mental health of almost everyone, including older adults. Being physically active can help you continue to do the things you enjoy and stay independent as you age. Regular physical activity over long periods of time can produce long-term health benefits. That’s why health experts say that older adults should be active every day to maintain their health. In addition, regular exercise and physical activity can reduce the risk of developing some diseases and disabilities that develop as people grow older. In some cases, exercise is an effective treatment for many chronic conditions. For example, studies show that people with arthritis, heart disease, or diabetes benefit from regular exercise. Exercise also helps people with high blood pressure, balance problems, or difficulty walking. What’s the Difference Between Physical Activity and Exercise?
Both terms refer to the voluntary movements you do that burn calories. Physical activities are activities that get your body moving such as gardening, walking the dog, raking leaves, and taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Exercise is a form of physical activity that is specifically planned, structured, and repetitive such as weight training, tai chi, or an aerobics class.

Spiritual Wellness, How you live your life now can effect how you age later in life.
The art of meditation is a great exercise or activity to enhance spieitual wellbeing. It is not necessary to affiliate with any belief system in order to benefit from meditating. Meditation can support your existing spiritual path whatever that may be, or simply to gain the awareness to discover the answers to life’s questions for yourself. The beautiful thing about meditation is that no matter who we are, no matter our social status, each one of us has an inherent power to meditate. The art of meditating is the ability to empty the mind or to concentrate the mind on one thing. This aids in mental or spiritual development, contemplation, or relaxation. When used as a way to develop concentration, undivided attention is placed upon a specific aspect of executing the mind and/or body in order to accomplish a certain goal or to develop a certain skill. Stress, tension, and imbalances can decrease our health. Yoga therapy is a way to regain greater health and mental-emotional balance. It is based in a philosophy that unifies the body and the mind. The benefits of yoga as therapy far exceed simple stretching. Yoga is a great way to enhance our spiriuality to know our inner-self. Church, prayer and fasting is my favorite exercise for spiritual growth and wellbeing. The hand-in-hand spiritual discipline of prayer and fasting is not a gimmick or a spiritual fad, although its neglect in recent decades makes it a new discovery for many Christians. Prayer and fasting is defined as voluntarily going without food in order to focus on prayer and fellowship with God. Prayer and fasting often go hand in hand, but this is not always the case. You can pray without fasting, and fast without prayer. It is when these two activities are combined and dedicated to God's glory that they reach their full effectiveness. Having a dedicated time of prayer and fasting is not a way of manipulating God into doing what you desire. Rather, it is simply forcing yourself to focus and rely on God for the strength, provision, and wisdom you need.

Psychological wellbeing, People who are emotionally healthy are in control of their emotions and their behavior psychologically. They are able to handle life’s inevitable challenges, build strong relationships, and lead productive, fulfilling lives. When bad things happen, they’re able to bounce back and move on. Mental or emotional health refers to your overall psychological well-being. It includes the way you feel about yourself, the quality of your relationships, and your ability to manage your feelings and deal with difficulties. Good mental health isn't just the absence of mental health problems. Being mentally or emotionally healthy is much more than being free of depression, anxiety, or other psychological issues. Rather than the absence of mental illness, mental and emotional health refers to the presence of positive characteristics. Taking care of your body is a powerful first step towards mental and emotional health. The mind and the body are linked. When you improve your physical health, you’ll automatically experience greater mental and emotional well-being. For example, exercise not only strengthens our heart and lungs, but also releases endorphins, powerful chemicals that energize us and lift our mood.
The activities you engage in and the daily choices you make affect the way you feel physically and emotionally.

Get enough rest. To have good mental and emotional health, it’s important to take care of your body. That includes getting enough sleep. Most people need seven to eight hours of sleep each night in order to function optimally. Learn More
Learn about good nutrition and practice it. The subject of nutrition is complicated and not always easy to put into practice. But the more you learn about what you eat and how it affects your energy and mood, the better you can feel. Learn More
Exercise to relieve stress and lift your mood. Exercise is a powerful antidote to stress, anxiety, and depression. Look for small ways to add activity to your day, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or going on a short walk. To get the most mental health benefits, aim for 30 minutes or more of exercise per day. Learn More; Get a dose of sunlight every day. Sunlight lifts your mood, so try to get at least 10 to 15 minutes of sun per day. This can be done while exercising, gardening, or socializing. Limit alcohol and avoid cigarettes and other drugs.

All of these things will increase you life as a healtthy functiong human being, with healty optimal well-ness!

Luv you'll!

Physical, Spiritual, Psychological Goals

My last Blog we rated our Optimal Wellness(Physical, Spiritual, Psychological) on a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being the worst and 10 being the best. I gave myself 9's and I believe because to me there is always room for improvement.

My physical goal is to be in the best shape I can be free from sickness, disease, body ailment, and obesity. Physical wellness is demonstrated by the overall fitness of an individual. It encourages principles of good health and knowledge which can affect behavior patterns that lead to a healthy lifestyle. This is my lifestyle and the life style that I strive for. Physical wellness involves respecting your body's own uniqueness and diversity, and engaging in practices that move you towards a higher level of health. Optimal physical well-being includes connecting with your physical self and avoiding harmful habits, while remaining focused on the balance of body-mind-spirit, something I exercise daily to discipline myself for the right regiment to achieve my well being goals.

It is important for everyone to explore what they believe is their own sense of meaning and purpose. The path to spiritual wellness may involve meditation, prayer, affirmations, or specific spiritual practices that support your connection to a higher power or belief system. Yoga and meditation can also help you develop spiritual wellness. Having compassion, the capacity for love and forgiveness, altruism, joy, and fulfillment help you enjoy your spiritual health. Your religious faith, values, beliefs, principles, and morals define your spirituality. I have benn achieving some extrodinary things with my spirituality but as I said there is always room to get better, I want to focus on my inner-man more and my relationship with God. I need more time in my prayer life and studying my innermost thoughts and dreams comparing them to the word of God to see if I can line up to God's plan to my life. When I achieve the ultimate spiritual balance as a man then will I be strong enough to accomplish the goals God has for me.

Being Psychologically Well (emotionally well) is more than just handling stress. It also involves being attentive to your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, whether positive or negative. Again on the scale I gave my self a 9 because the room for improvement, no ones perfect but we can strive for perfection. My goals for Psychological Wellness implies the ability to:
-Be aware of and accept our feelings, rather than deny them
-Have an optimistic approach to live
-Express feelings freely and manage feelings effectively
-Express emotions appropriately
-Adjust to change
-Cope with stress in a healthy way
-Enjoy life despite its occasional disappointments and frustrations

Achieving these things will further strengthen me to hights unimiginable to my optimal wellness as a whole.

This concludes this Blog about my Goals for optimal well being, next I will explain some exercises one can do to achieve the optyimal wellness that leads to life style we all should want! UNTIL NEXT TIME!

Holla at you all later! Love is first and God is love, "THEN GOD IS FIRST IN YOUR LIFE"!

GOD BLESS!

Optimal Well-Being/Is it possible?

Whats up everyone, great to be here with you!

While we are not all born perfectly healthy or able to live life without injury or illness, we can live well with tending and nurturing. Honor your body as a gift from God. Feed it healthy foods, keep it hydrated, build your physical endurance through regular exercise and respect your body’s need for rest.

Yes you can positively affect your state of health to achieve a renewed sense of physical wellbeing and confidence. My immune system is strong. My body is strong. My muscles are firm. I am healthy. I love to exercise. I radiate health. I release disease and embrace health. I rate myself a 9 for physical well-being but there is always room for improvement to get to a 10 on the scale from 1 to 10.

Spiritual well-being is an integral part of mental, emotional and physical health. It is considered to be a primary coping resource on the journey of recovery and healing. This healing takes place in drug treatment centers, eating disorder residential programs and at trauma recovery. Spiritual well-being can be associated with a specific religion but does not have to be. This practice is merely one’s own journey to discover things of importance in life as well as one’s place among them. It can be practiced in numerous ways, with its main purpose being to find purpose and meaning in life.Spirituality and faith provides me an opportunity to detach from circumstances and observe life with clarity and integrity. My Spirituality is at a positive state and level for accellrration in the spirit and earth realm. Spiritual well-being is a state is which the positive aspects of spirituality are shown. How the effects of spiritual well-being impact you is greatly determined by each individual. Through spiritual well-being classes, people become empowered and realize that even though they have issues, stressors, and challenges, they are not defined by these circumstances. I rate my spirituality at a 9 also because god moves in my life at all times my faith in Jesus as my lord nd savior is what keeps me from harms way.

Psychological well being is a subjective term that means different
things to different people. From all of the research I've done for
this answer the terms is used throughout the health industry as kind
of a catch-all phrase meaning contentment, satisfaction with all
elements of life, self-actualization (a feeling of having achieved
something with one's life), peace, and happiness.

While the above characteristics are goals to strive toward, it is
rather unrealistic for a person to feel all of these elements at the
same time. Thus most of the articles I've read seem to refer to a
person with "psychological well-being" as a happy, satisfied person.
While this seems to be a rather non-technical definition, it seems to
fit every instance I've been able to find.

To achieve this mental well-being one must experience a optimal well being because that is what makes me psychologically sharp, my faith and confidence helps me psychologically so I rate myself a 9 with room for improvement because one always wants to be stringer or better themselves.

Just Relax!

The body’s natural relaxation response is a powerful antidote to stress. Relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, visualization, progressive muscle relaxation, meditation, and yoga can help you activate this relaxation response. When practiced regularly, these activities lead to a reduction in your everyday stress levels and a boost in your feelings of joy and serenity. What’s more, they also serve a protective quality by teaching you how to stay calm and collected in the face of life’s curveballs.

You can’t avoid all stress, but you can counteract its negative effects by learning how to evoke the relaxation response, a state of deep rest that is the polar opposite of the stress response.

The stress response floods your body with chemicals that prepare you for “fight or flight.” But while the stress response is helpful in true emergency situations where you must be alert, it wears your body down when constantly activated.

The relaxation response brings your system back into balance: deepening your breathing, reducing stress hormones, slowing down your heart rate and blood pressure, and relaxing your muscles.

In addition to its calming physical effects, research shows that the relaxation response also increases energy and focus, combats illness, relieves aches and pains, heightens problem-solving abilities, and boosts motivation and productivity. Best of all – with a little practice – anyone can reap these benefits.

JUST RELAX!

VEE'S OPINION

Whats up everyone, wonderful day and wonderful class! It's wild how the world can get you so caught up that we forget the important things of life and health. Spiritual Healing, Prayer Healing, Religious belief, faith - whatever we call it- is shown to have a profound effect on our health. Research has shown that spiritual healing can provide permanent relief from the worries and difficulties that plague us. It can bring us about a complete revolution in the consciousness and the body. It can effect enduring physical, mental, and emotional change.God's dealings with man are not limited to our legalistic ideas about reward and punishment. Salvation is not a "reward" but a gift freely given by God. We cannot "earn" or "merit" it by anything we do, no matter how pious or self-effacing we think ourselves. The journey on relaxation exercise took me to a new qiute place of peace, I loved being there!
